About Us

The South Florida Gospel Music Awards was founded in 2004 by Peppi Hendrix. Initially known as the Palm Beach Gospel Music Awards, the Awards was founded as a way to give recognition and honor to Local Independent Gospel Artists & Pastors who were making a difference through the medium of gospel music and in their church and communities. After seeing a greater need to expand outside of Palm Beach, in 2006 the name was changed to its current name of The South Florida Gospel Music Awards encompassing all of South Florida (Palm Beach, Broward, & Dade Counties). God then gave even a greater vision to expand even further outside of the region of South Florida and now the name just points to where the Awards Show happens each year. The SFGMA Awards is now a Global Awards Show that embraces Gospel Artists and Pastors from the USA, Bahamas, Caribbean, South America, Europe & the World.
