| Hello and Welcome to the Official Website of The South Florida Gospel Music Awards. We are so honored that you stopped by to pay us a visit and see what God is doing through the SFGMA Awards to help promote His Kingdom. The South Florida Gospel Music Awards was founded by Mr.Peppi Hendrix in 2004. Then known as the Palm Beach Gospel Music Awards, Peppi’s vision was to promote the level of visibility of gospel music artists in the Greater Palm Beach area. Having seen wisdom to dream even bigger dreams, the Palm Beach Gospel Music Awards was renamed and refocused to the South Florida Gospel Music Awards encompassing all of South Florida. Now just in name, the SFGMA Awards as of 2009 has branched out and elevated its territory to all of the United States, Bahamas, Caribbean Islands, United Kingdom and the World. |
The South Florida Gospel Music Awards has seen tremendous growth and development since its inception. The National Gospel Community has rallied around this most worthy awards ceremony seeing the need to recognize independent gospel artist across the US, Bahamas, Caribbean Islands, UK, and the world. The SFGMA Awards boasts such National & International Corporate Sponsors as The Islands of the Bahamas, The Florida Gospel Announcers’ Guild of the GMWA, Inc., State Farm Insurance, Geffen and Universal Records, Amir Records, The Bobby Jones Gospel Complex for Preservation , SFGN, The Florida Department o Health, BBTV, and Gospel USA Magazine just to name a few. Many national and regional recording gospel artist have graced our stage as Jimmy Hicks and The Voices of Integrity, Stellar Winner Phillip Carter, TV Host and Radio Personality Johnny Sanders, Teen Pure-N-Heart, Adonna Bowen-Williams, Deanna Ransom, Prodigal Son, The Miracle Lights, Helen Miller & New Anointing, The Chenaniah Praise Dancers, Professa Stephen English & The Fellowship, Sunday’s Best Winner Dontavies Boatwright, Terrion Nelson, LaNorris McFadden & PROOF Joyful Noize, God’s Chozen, The Prince Rod Dance Company, Level 8, Palm Beach Atlantic University Choir, James Smith & Nu Birth, Men of Valor of Hopewell Baptist Church, The Apostles and a host of others… The SFGMA Awards has also had many dignitaries as Mayors, Commissioners, Representatives and Senators to present and salute the award recipients. The SFGMA Awards has also honored many notable Pastors for their leadership in promoting gospel music. These Pastors include Pastor A.J. Wrigt of The Shiloh Family Worship Center and Pastors Tracy & Tammi Wilkins of The Engrafted Word Worship Center. The SFGMA Awards has also had numerous radio personalities/station as part of its ceremonies such as representatives from stations WMBM, WHQT, WNEW, WJFP, WRMQ, etc and with such Radio Personalities as Kyle Stewart, Dawn Brady, Lydia Goodin, Lynette “Princess Divine” Brown, Friscoe, Cora Miles-Jefferson, Jo Riley, the late Sanford Wad and many other notable radio industry executives.
This year 2013 already promises to be an explosive year for the 2013 South Florida Gospel Music Awards. We will begin with our Friday Night Kick Off Celebration, Saturday Morning Pastor’s Honors Breakfast, Saturday Noon Empowerment Sessions, and culminate with the Saturday Night Award’s Ceremony and VIP After Party.
